Alistair Jardine, the founder of Rescue And First-aid Training Services, and has over 26 years experience Lifeguarding in the Leisure Industry, with gained experience in the area of Pool Lifeguarding, Lifesaving, Teaching of Swimming and First Aid, both as an instructor and as assessor.

Within this time I have acquired over 10 years Experience Training and Assessing within the fields of Lifeguarding / Lifesaving and First Aid.

Qualified as a National Trainer Assessor for the Royal Lifesaving Society (IQL). This involves a great deal of work delivering trainer assessing courses, as well as assessing and mentoring trainers throughout the country.

Alistair has built up a reputation over the years throughout South West Scotland as a professional trainer and is respected throughout this area of Scotland.

Ok, so your lifeguards are qualified, but how confident are you that they are

focused and switched on to the critical role of pool safety at all times? After all,

two thirds of casualties in swimming pools are reported in difficulty to the

lifeguard by a member of public.

Experience shows that current systems of robust lifeguard training and

management controls do not always ensure adequate lifeguard performance.

Despite the best efforts of pool operators, some lifeguards can still be observed

talking on poolside or being less than observant. Following a serious incident

there are sometimes allegations of lack of vigilance.
